Creative Cathy

February 12th, 2010

I always love to see those that enjoy sharing homes and even creating Sock Monkeys. Cathy is a crafty pro and wrote in to share some snaps from her recent Sock Monkey creations.

We really like the time and effort she spends on the outfits and clothes. Most humans don’t know this but we Monkeys do not like to be naked! Humans think it is cute but really….just kinda creepy and a bit chilly on the seems.

“Creative Cathy” has a wonderful volunteer website that you can visit and explore at

Susie is reunited with Serenity

February 10th, 2010

Susie wrote in a few months back about missing her buddy Serenity. You see Serenity had decided to travel to Hawaii and work as a Surfing Instructor. The photos looked wonderful and Serenity become a very popular teacher but eventualy the Heart always wins.

Late December Serenity came home and this is a snap of the loving reunion.

Tamara at www.sockmonkey.net knitted the hat and scarf to keep her warm but judging by the smile on Susie’s face… they will have a great winter.jkhuhj [640x480]

Surfs up for Joanne

February 4th, 2010

We have never been to Hawaii but Joanne has. She says she travels there to catch the “big ones” after the winter storms. We hope she stays safe and continues to push the limits of cotton and polyfil!

Here are a few of the great snaps she sent us.

Turtles and other neat stuff

February 2nd, 2010

Giselle, (Jenny to her friends) wanted to show everyone her great new dress. So often you see Sock Monkeys dressed in what the knitter gave them, but Jenny is a bit more refined than that.

We really like the design and it is great to see the cool crafts that our Sock Monkey Brothers and Sisters can produce.

Also, check out the cool turtle!

We hope to hear more from Jenny.

Paco and Pablo run for office

January 31st, 2010

Craig, a human, send us a news article about two identical twin Sock Monkeys running for city council. He forgot to let us know where but we thought it was a neat story.

Camp Falcon gets a new recruit

December 15th, 2009

Bad Monkey sent us a few snaps of himself from Iraq. He misses his people but keeps his spirits up by staying in shape and working on his Arabic poetry.

We like his collection of bullets (not sure what orange tipped bullets are made from?) and hope he stays safe.

Three Princesses

December 13th, 2009

Robin wrote in to share a photo of her new family. The Princesses live in Oregon and have already made the news. There has been a few reports in the newspaper and even a slow speed police chase on TV. The girls have a bad habit of driving very slow….yes even slower than most Oregonians.

They are looking for donations to make bail, in case you are wondering.

News from Alaska

November 28th, 2009

Betsy took the time to write us about the issues for Sock Monkey Alaskan Crabbers.

If you believe what Discovery Channel shows, only humans go out on boats to crab…but this is not true.
She now stays home with “Baby” and works on her novel but at one time she was known as a crabber!

Here is a photo of her and her new little one.

Jamaica James on the run

October 26th, 2009

With recent reports of financial mis-dealings we wanted to check in with our friend, Jamacia James. He was accused of some tricky bookwork and felt that he would not receive a fair shake. Needless to say, he legged it. We can’t disclose where in the world he is but his home was in Montana.

In his phone call with us, he expressed his enjoyment of the sun and warmth of….where ever he is and I think I heard some steel drums but cant be sure.

Soccer and the Monkey

September 21st, 2009

“Monkey” used to be a great soccer player and doubtless you recognize him from his Captain Crunch cereal box campaign. If you are able to get Monkey to sit still, stories of games and matches will flow like water. He is proud of his achievements but wishes he could change one thing.

“I forgot the little people. My humans to be specific.” Monkey said during our interview. “I took them for granted and it was short sighted. Yes, I was a world soccer star but they took me everywhere and treated me like one of the family.”

Monkey still lives with his humans and is able to care for them well. His royalty contracts from his yester-year fame still flow in but we noted a bit of sadness in his button.

This is a great reminder to all our Monkey readers; Dont forget your humans, keep an eye on them but treat them well.
