Jamaica James on the run

October 26th, 2009

With recent reports of financial mis-dealings we wanted to check in with our friend, Jamacia James. He was accused of some tricky bookwork and felt that he would not receive a fair shake. Needless to say, he legged it. We can’t disclose where in the world he is but his home was in Montana.

In his phone call with us, he expressed his enjoyment of the sun and warmth of….where ever he is and I think I heard some steel drums but cant be sure.

Soccer and the Monkey

September 21st, 2009

“Monkey” used to be a great soccer player and doubtless you recognize him from his Captain Crunch cereal box campaign. If you are able to get Monkey to sit still, stories of games and matches will flow like water. He is proud of his achievements but wishes he could change one thing.

“I forgot the little people. My humans to be specific.” Monkey said during our interview. “I took them for granted and it was short sighted. Yes, I was a world soccer star but they took me everywhere and treated me like one of the family.”

Monkey still lives with his humans and is able to care for them well. His royalty contracts from his yester-year fame still flow in but we noted a bit of sadness in his button.

This is a great reminder to all our Monkey readers; Dont forget your humans, keep an eye on them but treat them well.

The Sock Monkey behind Monkey Land

September 14th, 2009

After repeated requests we finally were able to get a photo of the Monkey behind Monkey Land. This South African park takes in our cousins and helps them in many different ways. It is great to see a Monkey not get hung up on the different materials we are all made from. (except wool Sock Monkeys, we dont like them!)

Quick trip to Machu

September 4th, 2009

I tell ya, being in Argentina and Uruaguay really makes you forget that you are in South America. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy this area of the world…but I am made from a bit tougher cotton. I love third world travel!

Peru is one of the best places on earth, in my opionion and so when I heard that a bus ran from Buenos Aires to Cusco Peru (only 68 hours), I got me a ticket!

Machu Pichu is a wonderful place that still rings with mystery. Yes, it is starting to become touristy….but that is the price we pay for sharing the planet. I am still working on my Spanish and need to head off for a lunch date.

Uruguay Dreams

August 29th, 2009

From Buenos Aires it is a easy 3 hour boat ride to get to Montevideo, a city that I never thought of visiting. But now that I am here I find it a wonderful place.

There are many cars driving around that are over fifty years old and while I have yet to see a Sock Monkey….the people seem to accept me and my weak Spanish. The city is very old and has a look of tarnished silver, as in great things happened here…but not for 70 years or so.

The people here are very nice and seem to have retained a kind culture that is missing in some South American areas.

Ok, I need to find me a steak!

Ceru visits Buenos Aires

August 26th, 2009

Howdy,

Ceru here.

I recently returned from Argentina and wanted to share some of my adventures. Buenos Aires is a wonderful city with many things to do. We were invited to speak for the South American Sock Monkey Club and so I brought my two assistants to help. They seemed to have fun and you can read about their fun at www.WeGoWest.com .

I spent most of my time eating pizza, walking the parks and learning to Tango. The female Stockings there are amazing and sure do know how to move their heels.

We are headed to Uruguay soon and so must round up my humans.

Threats from Greece

July 30th, 2009

The worlds top Sewing Machine Designer, Eric Chong, has recently received this photo sent from an unknown Sock Monkey. The letter that came with the photo is upsetting and so will not be re-posted here. Needless to say, Santorini (the Sock Monkey pictured) has taken issue with Eric’s profession and wants him to know that, “Santorini is watching!”.

We here at SockMonkey.us will always side with the innocent party and so our wishes are for Eric and his family. If Santorini is a true Sock Monkey, he would use other means to air his issues.

He looks like a nice Monkey, so our question is “What could have happened to him to cause such evil?”

Fluff and Socks never threaten!

This is Geronimo.

He likes three things.

1. Climbing Trees
2. Jumping from Trees
3. Yelling his name as he falls

We think he is cool.

A fine example for all Monkeys!

June 4th, 2009

Sometimes, we Monkeys forget what we are capable of. Yes, yes, we read all the reports about “typical” monkey behavior; laying around, plots against family entrenched cats and of course…the stereotypical letting lost dryer socks free.

Today, we are SockMonkey.us were sent a report on Monkey Meat from his person. This unsolicited glowing expression of appreciation has set us back on our heel.

2

During a recent expansion of the family, Monkey Meat not only took on the family biz of video editing (!) but was able to take care of the family taxes! He could have explored the town (Rayne, Louisiana) found strange exotic hosiery to knit with or just lazied around, but no.

Anyway, I just wanted to highlight a Monkey that we can all look up too.

Thanks Chris and Monkey Meat for the great report!
